Frank Arnesen has indicated that PSV does not have to go to Feyenoord for Steven Berghuis. The Eindhoven people seem to be losing Steven Bergwijn to Tottenham Hotspur and wanted to replace Berghuis in the summer as a replacement.
At the press presentation of Robert Bozeník, the new Slovakian striker of Feyenoord, Arnesen is asked about the developments at PSV and what he will do when the people of Eindhoven contact Berghuis. “Then I don’t answer,” says the Danish technical director with a laugh.
After Bozeník, an incoming transfer is still possible, Arnesen says. “We are looking into whether that is possible,” he tells the press. “That is, of course, also a matter of finances. Someone is out of the question, so that should be a rental player. That could also be in midfield.”
On Monday, reports from Turkey seeped through that Feyenoord contacted Besiktas for that position in midfield about Oguzhan Özyakup. The Turk with Dutch roots would come to Rotterdam for half a year and Feyenoord is also betting on an option to buy on the Zaandam.
