Armstrong Eyes Podium After Rally Poland Surge
Polish Rally Performance Fuels Driver’s Championship Ambitions
After a challenging start to the ERC, the M-Sport Ford World Rally Team driver, Armstrong, is aiming for a top finish. Finishing third in the high-speed fixture at ORLEN OIL 81st Rally Poland has boosted his standings significantly.
Tarmac Tests Ahead
Armstrong’s previous ERC season had been difficult, his best result being a tenth-place finish. However, finishing third in Poland has moved him up to sixth place in the title standings. The remaining four European rounds will all be on asphalt, starting with Rally di Roma Capitale in Italy from July 4-6.

“It definitely makes it more achievable to have a good result now,”
—Armstrong, Pirelli-equipped Ford Fiesta Rally2 driver
The number of ERC competitors has grown in recent years, highlighting the sport’s enduring appeal (FIA Report 2024).
Reflecting on the Season
Armstrong acknowledged the tough start to his second ERC campaign at Rally2 level. He stated that they’d had good pace throughout the year but hadn’t always achieved the desired results. He added that if they had managed to bring their events together, they could have been in a great position in the championship.
Looking ahead, Armstrong hopes to build on this momentum in the upcoming asphalt rallies, targeting more podium finishes.
