The breakthrough of the invader’s troops towards Severodonetsk was planned from the side of the village of Toshkovka.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine on Sunday repelled a powerful attempt by a Russian breakthrough in the area of the village of Toshkovka. This was announced today by the head of the Lugansk regional administration Serhiy Gaidai on the air of Espresso.
“They tried to make a powerful breakthrough in the Toshkovka area. They were partially successful, but then our artillery worked, and we can say that the attempt to break through failed. [Привлекли] dozens of pieces of heavy equipment. For understanding, this is about one and a half armored personnel carriers of heavy equipment that came to Toshkovka,” Gaidai said.
Severodonetsk remains Russia’s main target, fighting there continues. Gaidai does not tell in more detail about the situation in the city.
“The Russian leadership has already reported that they have captured Severodonetsk, but fighting is still going on there. For some reason, Russian soldiers are dying there – this indicates that the city is not completely controlled by the Russian army,” Gaidai said.
Lisichansk is completely under the control of the Ukrainian authorities, but is under constant shelling. Despite this, humanitarian aid is delivered to the city every day.
