A man identified as the leader of a group that conducted disruptive pranks at several businesses in Tempe, Arizona, has been arrested.
the suspect, identified as Cobb, faces charges including third-degree burglary, criminal impersonation, disorderly conduct, and criminal trespass. The arrests stem from a series of incidents occurring between March and july, during which a group of men entered businesses disguised as employees, causing notable disruptions.
According to police, the group would enter stores, access employee-only areas, and refuse to leave when asked. Viral videos circulating online documented these pranks, with one video showing an individual at a Chipotle restaurant claiming to be there to address portion size issues. The individual then summoned others to “clean” the restaurant and attempted to enter the restricted area behind the counter while the manager contacted law enforcement.
Other businesses targeted in Tempe include Pep Boys, Hyland Auto Repair, Big Brand Tire & Service, and jiffy Lube. It remains unclear if any other individuals involved in the pranks have been identified or apprehended.
The extent of Cobb’s current custody status and legal representation was not immediately available.
