Argentina exceeded 4,000 killed by Covid-19

Argentina reported this Wednesday of 30 new deaths, reaching its global total to 4,009 deaths, while 213,535 people have been infected since the outbreak of the pandemic in the country.

Of the deaths reported in the last 12 hours, 24 occurred in the province of Buenos Aires, epicenter of the coronavirus that concentrates 60.6 percent of cases nationwide. Two other people died in the city of Buenos Aires, two more in Neuquén, one in Chaco and the other in Santa Fe.

The Ministry of Health indicated that Argentina registers a case fatality rate of 1.9 percent, with a mortality rate of 88 people per million inhabitants, and an average age of the deceased of 75 years.

On the other hand, 1,207 people are hospitalized in intensive care, a figure that the authorities follow closely in view of the risk of saturation of the health system, which currently registers an occupation of 56.6 percent nationwide and 66.4 percent in the metropolitan area of ​​Buenos Aires.

Meanwhile, 45.4 percent of infected Argentines – around 96,948 people – have already recovered and are discharged.
