Ares S1 Project: V8 engine, design and interior of the Modena supercar

An exclusive and classic coupe with its 715 hp naturally aspirated V8 engine. The Emilian company will produce only 24 copies. Photos from all angles

It will be for very few: a production of only 24 units for an Italian supercar. Ares S1 Project speaks the Modenese dialect and exudes power in a classic style. No electrification but a powerful naturally aspirated V8, of unknown origin. The first catwalk, always for those few who can afford it, will be from 23 to 26 September in Great Britain, during the Salon Privé at Blenheim Palace where a life-size model will be exhibited. Production will start in January 2021.

ARES S1 PROJECT, THE ENGINE

Little is known about the engine that will equip the Ares S1 Project. The Emilian company has spread its typology, division, power and position. This is a centrally mounted 715 hp naturally aspirated V8. Maximum rotation speed 8,800 rpm, for 0-100 acceleration in 2.7 seconds, definitely not bad. Power is discharged to the ground by a rear-wheel drive transmission combined with an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The double wishbone suspension is assisted by adaptive electronic control Magnetic Ride Control.

THE DESIGN OF THE ARES S1 PROJECT

The information on the rest of the car is also sparse. The design was designed by the interior style center of Ares Design. The result is an extreme coupe with an unmistakable Italian taste. The rear spoiler is active, the tailpipes are close to the bonnet, a solution which, in addition to being aesthetically pleasing, also avoids hindering the aerodynamic extractor. The carbon fiber body panels are handcrafted.

ARES S1, THE INTERIORS

The cockpit of the Ares S1 Project is also handcrafted. The materials are the finest: Alcantara, Nappa leather and carbon fiber, in addition to aluminum. The main controls are concentrated in the center console, the rest is managed via the touchscreen. Dany Bahar, managing director of Ares Design and co-founder with Waleed Al Ghafari, said: “The goal was not to produce the fastest, lightest or most technologically advanced supercar in the world. Rather, we want to produce a car that our customers want, that is easy and fun to drive and that is simply beautiful to look at: with the S1 Project I know we will be able to make it happen ”.

ARES DESIGN, ITALIAN COMPANY

Ares Design was founded by Dany Bahar and Waleed Al Ghafari. Bahar is a manager with a background in Ferrari (where he was vice president in the commercial area) and Lotus, of which he was CEO. The Ares plant in Modena was inaugurated in 2018. The first projects involved the customization of existing vehicles (including motorcycles) or the design of one-offs such as the Panther. The S1 Project therefore represents the evolution towards complete production.
