Hitekno.com – Foot steps dinosaur The giant was found by archaeologists on the coast of Yorkshire, England and is considered to be the largest ever found in the area.

“I was collecting some shells for dinner and I didn’t collect any more after seeing the traces,” said Marie Woods, the archaeologist who found giant dinosaur footprints the.

Experts think the three-finger print trail was left by a large meat-eating dinosaur with a possible body length of eight to nine meters.

After his discovery, Woods immediately contacted specialists, including Dr. Dean Lomax, a paleontologist and author of Dinosaurs of the British Isles.

Dr Lomax said that the discovery turned out to be a rediscovery because it was partially discovered by Rob Taylor, a fossil collector in November 2020.

However, even though Taylor posted photos of his findings on a Facebook group dedicated to the fossils from Yorkshire, the fossils have not been fully revealed and no one has noticed.

“These are the largest theropod footprints ever found in Yorkshire and belong to a large flesh-eating dinosaur,” said Dr. Lomax, quoted from Independent, Thursday (15/4/2021).

It can be seen from the shape and tracks of three fingers, along with claw marks made by large theropods, which may have had a hip height of about 2.4 meters and a body length of up to nine meters.

“We can never be sure exactly what species made these tracks, but the type of tracks matches a dinosaur found in England called Megalosaurus, which lived at about the same time as these footprints were made, circa Middle Jurassic,” added Dr. Lomax.

The coast of Yorkshire is known to store many dinosaur footprints, especially through research by Dr Mike Romano and Dr Martin Whyte who spent about 20 years researching and finding hundreds to thousands of dinosaur footprints. (Suara.com/Lintang Siltya Utami)
