Arab and Islamic Countries Announce First Day of Eid Al-Fitr 2023

Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and most Arab and Islamic countries announced, on Friday, the first day of Eid Al-Fitr 2023, after observing the sighting of the crescent of the month of Shawwal on Thursday evening.

And some countries announced that it was not possible to see the crescent of Shawwal on Thursday evening, so that Friday is the completion of the month of Ramadan, and on Saturday, April 22, 2023, is the first day of Eid Al-Fitr.

Saturday was the first day of Eid Al-Fitr, the Sultanate of Oman, Morocco and Libya, and Iran also joined these countries.

In Iraq, the office of Ali al-Sistani (the supreme Shiite authority in Najaf) declared Saturday the first day of Eid al-Fitr. As for the Sunni Endowment Office in Iraq, it announced that Friday is the first day of Eid.
