AR Technology Facebook Video Calls Turn You into a Harry Potter Character

Suara.com – Facebook Portal video calling device gets crossover Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.

This feature allows you up to three of your friends to dress up as characters from the drama using technology augmented reality (WITH).

Reported page The Verge, citing the official Facebook blog, Thursday (8/7/2021), here’s how to use it.

Anyone can start the experience by tapping ‘Curtain Call’ in the effects tray on the Portal.

“Callers can fully embody characters thanks to real-time skin sampling that matches 3D characters to your unique skin tone before turning them into AR masks for seamless integration,” Facebook said on its blog.

“If you don’t have a Portal device, Instagram and Facebook users will still be able to interact with AR masks through their respective cameras and share videos and photos via Stories,” Facebook said.

Facebook has stepped up its AR technology efforts. Last September it was announced that the company would be making AR effects for Messenger and Portal in 2021.
