Since last year -and after appropriating this Messenger functionality- Facebook allows create rooms to be able to make video calls and video meetings with up to 50 people at the same time. They can also be used for events, round tables, debates, webinars, etc.
How to create rooms on Facebook? It’s pretty straightforward. You can do it through the desktop version of the social network or through its mobile application.
In both cases you have to click on an option that indicates Create Room and that is accompanied by an icon with a kind of camera in purple with a plus. This is under the status, where Facebook asks what are you thinking?
Once you have clicked on Create Room, a window with three steps will appear.
- The first one is Room name. You can choose your own denomination in New, but if you don’t have much imagination or don’t feel like thinking too much, Facebook will offer you some predefined names. It gives you a choice between things like Is there someone out there ?, Hanging out, I’m bored, Happy Hour, etc. Click Save when you have made up your mind.
- Then, just below the Name of the room you find the option Guests. In it you can select the people you want to participate in the Audio session. You can invite all your friends or select specific people. On the other hand, you have the opportunity to share the link to invite more people who are not in your circle. At the end, click Save.
- The last step is Start time. Here you simply have to select the date and time you want to make the room. As in the previous steps, click Save.
You would already have your room scheduled on Facebook. Now get handsome and do your best for the camera.
The desktop version has some variations in the steps with respect to the app. Thus, instead of Start time, simply Start appears, which is in second place. The third indicates Visible for all friends and here you must create the room and then invite people.
