Apple’s next iPad Air would be a little closer to the iPad Pro

According to Macotakara, a Japanese blog specialist of Apple, the American firm would consider offering USB-C on its next iPad Air. The latter should also adopt the screen size of the 11-inch iPad Pro.

The Japanese site Macotakara reports that the future iPad Air model will ship a USB-C port instead of the traditional Lightning. A first for the range while this connection is currently only present on the iPad Pro. Apple is it about to unify its different tablets?

“Classic” iPads follow the path of iPad Pro

The Japanese site specifies that the iPad Air 4 would be developed on the same basis as the 11-inch iPad Pro. This would mean that the next generation of iPad Air would adopt the same screen size, or at least a similar size, while having borders reduced to the maximum. From there to see a disappearance of Touch ID on the Air range, there is only one step. An evolution more than logical and which would not be surprising, in the measure or theiPad Air 3 used the basics of the 10.5-inch iPad Pro. Macotakara adds that the basis of11 “iPad Pro would be the same, but that the definition of the photo sensor would be lowered.

In addition, the site announces that a new iPad Mini would be in stock for 2021 at the earliest. Macotakara nevertheless gives initial information. The screen size would be increased from 7.9 inches to 8.5 inches. A model which could not really be “mini” anymore, unless Apple decides to keep the format and only increase the size of the panel.
