New Apple Vision Pro Strap Details Emerge in Code
Leaked code references suggest Apple is developing a new “Dual Knit Band” for the first-generation Apple Vision Pro headset, possibly combining features of the existing Dual Loop and Solo Knit straps. This development aligns with previous reports of a redesigned strap as part of broader upgrades to the device.
The revelation, reported by MacRumors, indicates the new band will feature both an upper strap spanning the top of the head and a band fitting behind the head. A text description within the code supports this design. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, who initially reported on the new band in July, expressed on social media that Apple should offer the upgraded strap free to existing Vision Pro owners, given the headset’s $3,500+ price point.
While the exact design remains unknown, the “Dual Knit Band” name suggests the upper strap may utilize the ribbed knit material found in the Solo Knit band, potentially enhancing comfort for users experiencing discomfort from the Vision Pro’s weight during extended use.
