Apple updates iMovie app for Mac

According to the latest news, Apple has updated its iMovie app for Macs. The updated iMovie app will allow users to tweak and adjust the focus in videos recorded using the iPhone 13’s new cinematic mode. However, this requires waiting for an update. MacOS, the deployment of which was scheduled for October 25.

This mode was introduced in September with the last clutch of iPhones. It allows people to touch their phone screen to adjust the focal point during recording, and during playback after the video has been shot.

It should be noted that iMovie has been optimized for the new M1 Pro and M1 Max chips. Which are Apple’s most powerful chips right now. The M1 Pro offers 70% better CPU performance and twice the graphics performance of the original M1 chip.

The iMovie 10.3 release notes state the following:

Cinematic Mode – Edit videos recorded on the iPhone 13 in Cinematic mode (requires macOS Monterey) – Use the Kinematics control in the Inspector to change the intensity of the depth effect – Choose to focus on faces or other objects by selecting them in the viewer – Show and remove focus points in the video timeline.
