Apple Stops Selling iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone XR

Jakarta: Apple has officially announced four new iPhone models, namely the iPhone 13 line, at an event titled California Streaming on September 14 last. However, with the launch of this latest iPhone, Apple stopped selling a number of older iPhone models.

The models that are included in the list of iPhone products that will no longer be sold by Apple are the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 2 Pro Max. Consumers can no longer find the two flagship models from the 2020 iPhone line released last year in Apple’s official online store, except for reconditioned models.

This has triggered questions from a number of parties, considering that the marketing of the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max has not even been a year. However, consumers who are interested in this phone can still buy both at third-party retail stores.

Apple’s decision is also expected to encourage third-party retailers to sell the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max at a more affordable price. In addition to these two models, Apple has also decided to stop selling the iPhone XR.

As a reminder, the iPhone XR was launched in 2018, as an alternative to the iPhone XS but at a more affordable price. iPhone XR is a mid-range phone with LCD support, second-generation Face ID technology, and Neural Engine technology.

After the launch of the iPhone 13, Apple also stopped selling a number of other models, in addition to the iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max and iPad XR. To fill the void left by the iPhone XR, Apple lowered the price of the iPhone 11 to $499 (Rp 7.1 million).

In addition, Apple also lowered the price of the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini by USD 100 (Rp 1.4 million), to USD 699 (Rp 9.96 million) for the iPhone 12 and USD 599 (Rp 8.5 million) for the iPhone 12 mini.

As for the iPhone SE released in 2020, Apple is still marketing it at the same price, which is USD 399 (Rp 5.7 million). For information, the iPhone 13 is marketed at a price of USD 799 (Rp 11.4 million), and the iPhone 13 mini is offered at a price of USD 699 (Rp 9.9 million).

The iPhone 13 Pro is offered at a price of USD 999 (Rp 14.2 million), and the most premium variant of the iPhone 13 line, namely the iPhone 13 Pro Max, is offered at a price of USD 1,099 (Rp 15.7 million).

In this iPhone 13 line, Apple is also eliminating models with 64GB of storage space for the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini models, and adding 1TB capacity on the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max models.
