TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – The sales performance of the iPhone 12 Mini has been below expected for the months since last year’s October release, and Apple also has reduced production figures. In his analysis in early February 2021, JP Morgan reported that Cupertino, Apple’s headquarters, reduced by 11 million units of production volume.
Recently, Nikkei Asia also revealed the latest estimate that Apple will reduce the overall iPhone production figure by 20 percent compared to the production plan made last December. The biggest cut will be contributed from the model iPhone 12 Mini.
In total, Apple is expected to produce 75 million iPhones (a combination of the iPhone 12 series and others) in the first six months of 2021. That’s well below the initial projection of 96 million units – but that 21 million reduction still leaves us with a lot of results. the projected figure is higher than the production for the same period last year.
The latest iPhone 12 series is actually a hit. Sales surpassed the iPhone 11 in the United States and led Apple to record revenue of $ 111.4 billion in the first quarter of this year.
The standard iPhone 12 models were the bestsellers, but the Pro and Max models were also able to beat the sales performance of the pro models from the iPhone 11. Only the iPhone 12 Mini model is still struggling to find its market.

Even so, Apple is expected to introduce it anyway iPhone 13 Mini this year. The Nikkei also reports that Apple will begin mass production of its two new MacBooks – possibly the 14 and 16-inch MacBook Pro with mini-LED displays – in May or June. It is suspected that Apple will correct some design aspects that are considered annoying in the mini design.
