Apple Martin on Mom Gwyneth NEW YORK -[2]apple Martin, the 19-year-old daughter of Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin,is opening up about growing up with two famous parents, revealing a childhood filled with style inspiration from her mother and a generally private upbringing. In a new interview coinciding with her debut as a brand ambassador for Self-Portrait, Martin, currently studying law, history and society at a Nashville college, shared how Paltrow’s fashion choices have consistently influenced her own style and how she occasionally “steals” pieces from her mother’s extensive wardrobe.
Martin described herself as constantly inspired by Paltrow’s archival looks, frequently searching Pinterest for photos of her mother’s red carpet appearances from the 1990s. “I was always excited to see what she was going to wear to go out in, or to an event. To this day I am constantly going on Pinterest to look at old photos of her on the red carpet from the 1990s,” she said. She also revealed a recent prosperous raid on Paltrow’s closet, acquiring a Prada bowling bag she described as “the perfect travel bag.”
Despite her parents’ high profiles, Martin emphasized a relatively normal childhood. She rarely appears in public with Paltrow and Martin, with a notable exception being Apple’s societal debut at Le Bal des Débutantes in Paris last year, an event attended by her grandmother Blythe Danner and brother Moses Martin.
Martin balances her studies with downtime activities like “guitar playing sessions” and reality TV with friends. While navigating her own path, she acknowledges the lasting impact of her parents’ influence, especially her mother’s enduring style.
