It’s a big day for Apple fans. The iPhone 12 Mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max can be preordered from today, but a software update is also being released for the Apple Watch: watchOS 7.1.
The update for the Apple Watch is fairly minor, but it does bring some improvements that may be useful for a select group of users. A new function offers a notification if the audio level of your headphones is so high that it can affect your hearing.
A bug fix should ensure that some users are able to unlock a Mac with their Apple Watch again. Another fix is for a bug that made the screen dark on some Watch 6users. This happened while holding their wrists up.
Just update
To download watchOS 7.1 for your Apple Watch, make sure the smartwatch is near your iPhone. The device must also be connected to WiFi. Go to the Apple Watch app on your iPhone, hit General> Software Update. If the update is available, press Download and install. Make sure your Apple Watch is at least half charged.
In principle, the update to watchOS 7.1 should already be available. It is of course possible that it has not yet been rolled out for all Apple Watches, so keep an eye out for the software update during the day.
