Apple is renewing Clips app for video editing

Apple Clips is a kind of accessible alternative to Apple’s video editing software iMovies. With Clips, users can edit videos that they can post later on, for example, social media. The videos can now be recorded in portrait or landscape orientation and edited, in 16: 9, 4: 3 and square proportions. Until now, only the square option was there. With the new update, Clips responds better to, among other things TikTok and Instagram Stories.

It is also easier to find the different effects that can be added to videos. The horizontal list can now also be viewed fullscreen, for a better overview. The royalty-free music offering has expanded to 100 songs, and there are updated filters, posters, live titles and selfie scenes.

The music is automatically adjusted to the length of the video. Automatic subtitles can also be added, but that does not work in Dutch yet. In front of iPhone 12users are exported videos in Dolby Vision HDR.
