Apple Glass: Crazy rumors about Apple glasses for the iPhone – multimedia

Rumors are growing that Apple glasses will be available for the iPhone. The device is said to cost about $ 500 for augmented reality (AR).

Youtuber Jon Prosser, recently one of the most accurate sources when it came to Apple rumors, has one Video summarized new information on an alleged AR glasses from Apple.

In addition to the target price, Prosser also reveals the name of the product: Apple Glass. The glasses will display information for the user and should also be able to be delivered with corrective glasses, it says.

According to Prosser, there should be transparent displays in the glasses. Apple will do without a camera in the glasses frame. Instead, a lidar sensor is installed with which the distance to objects can be measured. Prosser claims that the glasses can only be used in combination with an iPhone.

In a podcast with the Cult of Mac website, Prosser did it again and again claimedthat Apple is also working on a special Steve Jobs edition of the glasses. The prototype had the typical round glasses that the late Apple founder had worn.

The Steve Jobs commemoration project is reminiscent of the Apple Watch with a gold case, says Prosser. The smartwatch was sold in 2015 at prices of up to € 18,000 and was taken out of the range just a year later. And so Prosser himself calls the supposedly planned Steve Jobs glasses in the podcast a “pure marketing bubble”. If the crazy rumor ever became reality!

In his video, Prosser claims that the glasses can be presented in autumn 2020 or early 2021.

The rumors that Apple is working on AR glasses have been going on for years. Apple CEO Tim Cook has repeatedly described AR technology as the next major development step in the technology industry. You can already buy glasses for augmented reality, but these are usually rather unwieldy products that are primarily intended for professional use.

The German technology group Bosch, on the other hand, showed the prototype of computer glasses at CES in Las Vegas in January 2020, which can project content directly into the eyes of the user and will hardly be distinguishable from conventional glasses.

The glasses with Bosch technology should come on the market in the first half of 2021, it said at the time. Bosch did not reveal which manufacturer wanted to install the technology. But the timeframe might match the rumors surrounding Apple Glass …
