Apple could offer an all-in-one hardware-software subscription

Last September, Apple created a stir by launching its One offer. The idea of this package is very simple. It brings together in a single offer the various services of the Apple brand: Apple Music, Apple TV +, Apple Arcade and iCloud. As a result, a saving of 6 euros for customers since it costs only 14.95 euros in France.

Consumers increasingly favor subscription over purchase

According to a note from Loup Ventures analysts, the Cupertino company should go further in this strategy. Apple could launch a new subscription offer to get an iPad, Mac, or Apple Watch. It would correspond to the iPhone Upgrade Program, a system, not available in France, which allows you to pay a monthly subscription to use a new generation device. It is then possible to update it every year when new models come out.

Experts then imagine a merger between Apple One and this type of service. According to them, the company is also ideal for making this type of transformation a success. It is even one of the few able to offer such an offer. Demand should also follow, according to the authors and even when the health crisis ends, teleworking could remain the norm for many employees thereafter.

Apple also has everything to gain by favoring this strategy. This would generate more stable income throughout the year and bring even more visibility for the future. The company would also be able to respond to a change in the mentality of the youngest consumers who increasingly favor rental and subscription over purchase.
