Apple also abandons controversial butterfly keyboard with new MacBook Air | NOW

Apple is also moving away from the controversial butterfly keyboard for its updated MacBook Air, the company announced on Wednesday website. In the fall, Apple already released a MacBook Pro without this much-criticized keyboard design.

The butterfly keyboard was introduced in 2015 by Apple. With this type of keyboard, the hinges under the keys resemble the wings of a butterfly. This is in contrast to the traditional scissors system. This design is used again, but according to Apple, in the MacBook Air.

The new MacBook Air is for sale from next week and costs 1,199 euros. The laptop has a 13-inch screen, but is less powerful than the MacBook Pro of the same size.

The butterfly keyboard received a lot of criticism from users, partly because dirt easily got in and the keyboard worked less well. With the arrival of the new MacBook Air, Apple is now abandoning the design for both laptop models.

New iPad Pro with two camera lenses

In addition to the new MacBook Air, Apple also presents a new iPad Pro on Wednesday. In addition to the regular 12-megapixel camera, the new model is also equipped with an ultra-wide camera (10-megapixel).

In addition, the camera module is equipped with a lidar sensor. This sensor calculates how long it takes before light bounces off an object, allowing the distance to be calculated. Among other things, the technology can be used for augmented reality, for example to place objects in a room.

The new iPad Pro will be available from March 25 from 899 euros.
