Jakarta

Existence Honda HR-V officially disclosed version. In appearance, the Bamboo Curtain country version of the Honda HR-V has a design that is quite different from the latest Honda HR-V marketed in Indonesia. In addition, from the engine aspect, the Chinese version of the HR-V gets a hybrid engine option.

Quoted from Carscoops, The Chinese version of the HR-V will be produced by the Dongfeng-Honda joint venture. This car shares the same platform as the ZR-V made by the Guangqi-Honda joint venture. The question is, why are there two Honda companies and two twin models being marketed in China?

It turns out that Chinese rules require foreign car companies to set up two joint ventures with local companies to be allowed to build and sell vehicles locally. So don’t be surprised if China has many variations of models from the same brand.

For information, the third generation of the Honda HR-V was launched in 2021 and marketed in a number of European and Japanese (Vezel) countries, including in Indonesia. Then another HR-V twin appeared, which was called the one sold in the North American market and later called the ZR-V for the European and Chinese markets. And the HR-V made by Dongfeng Honda is a Chinese-spec HR-V whose design is very different from the previous HR-V.

The Chinese-spec Honda HR-V has a large front grille and a thin intake bumper similar to the larger Honda CR-V. The LED graphics on the headlights are similar to those of Volvo car designs. Interestingly, one of the grilles lights up and connects with the LED DRL lights.

At first glance, the side and rear body silhouettes are similar to the ZR-V. It’s just that the HR-V has a more assertive and boxy design, there is a reflector lamp that extends from the tailgate to the taillight. Strengthening the sporty impression, this car is equipped with trapezoidal double exhaust pipes.

Dongfeng Honda has yet to announce the technical specifications of this new SUV, but it is certain that the Chinese-spec HR-V carries a hybrid engine, as can be seen from the pinned e: HEV logo, which stands for Hybrid Electric Vehicle.
