Employers’ organizations VNO-NCW and MKB-Nederland call on their members to better adhere to the measures to prevent a second lockdown. In March a so-called ‘intelligent lockdown’ was created by the cabinet.
“A second lockdown is imminent, with draconian consequences for entrepreneurs, employees and the economy”, the employers write in a letter. They ask their members to take the lead when it comes to following the rules of conduct. “Because we notice that attention has been weakening, we call on everyone to pay attention to this again and visibly and to strictly observe the protocols.”
The employers’ organizations will also start a social media campaign this weekend aimed at all people in the Netherlands to better adhere to the measures.
Extra measures
Yesterday it was announced that the Outbreak Management Team Monday at the request of the cabinet with extra advice comes before the cities of Amsterdam, Rotterdam and The Hague, where the number of infections is increasing sharply. More safety regions have now also moved to risk level 2.
Of the 25 safety regions in the Netherlands, additional measures now apply in 14. Among others, Mayor Aboutaleb of Rotterdam has called for national measures.
