Chairman of the Indonesian Osteoporosis Association (PEROSI) dr. Bagus Putu Putra Suryana said that infrequent movement can cause osteoporosis.

“Clearly it increases the risk of osteoporosis and fractures, due to changes in diet and also changes in activity,” said Bagus during an online discussion, Tuesday (19/10).

Therefore, Doctor Bagus advised to keep moving even if only at home.

A person can do simple exercises such as walking in place, push ups, or join virtual gymnastics. Because, the risk of osteoporosis can cause fractures.

“We have to understand the risk factors first, whether we are vulnerable age, diet too, how our activities, family factors,” he said.

He said if someone has risk factors for osteoporosis, you should immediately consult a doctor.

Doctor Bagus said, as a preventive measure for osteoporosis, regular bone density tests could be carried out.
