The chain message states that the earth will experience cold weather. As a result, people will feel feverish, flu, cough, and shortness of breath.

Aphelion is an astronomical phenomenon that occurs once a year in the range of July, where the position of the Sun is at the farthest point from Earth. The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) denied that the cause of cold weather in several regions in Indonesia in early 2022 was due to the Aphelion phenomenon.
Recognizing the Aphelion Phenomenon
The Aphelion phenomenon is a condition where the point of Earth’s orbit is farthest from the Sun. This Aphelion phenomenon occurs because the earth’s orbit is not perfectly circular but is in the shape of an ellipse.
When the Aphelion phenomenon occurs, the diameter of the sun will look smaller than the average, which is about 15.73 arc minutes or a decrease of 1.68 percent. In addition, when the sun’s position is in the north, the air pressure in the northern hemisphere is lower than the southern hemisphere which experiences winter.
However, LAPAN stated that the position of the earth which is at the farthest point from the sun will not affect the temperature or heat received by the earth. Heat from the sun will be distributed throughout the earth, with the distribution also influenced by wind patterns.
