Apex Legends: Respawn considers cross-play “important” – News

Shortly after the release of Apex Legends in February 2019, Respawn indicated that cross-play – allowing owners of different platforms to play together – was “under study”. If this feature is still not part of the battle royale, the developers returned to the subject in a recent interview.

For Chad Grenier (director of Apex Legends) and Dusty Welch (General Manager), two executives from the Respawn Entertainment studio, the “cross-play is something that is expected in the industry and important in a game like Apex Legends. A statement shared by Game Informer magazine, relayed by Eurogamer. The two men also indicate that they play Apex Legends on different platforms themselves during their free time. “On a personal level, yes, we would love to (implement cross-play) and play together on weekends”confesses Dusty Welch. Statements which maintain the hope of arriving this functionality in the future, even if for the moment, nothing is confirmed. More and more titles support it, in particular PUBG, Black desert and World War Z lately, or the battle royale Call of Duty: Warzone which launched on March 10 directly by allowing cross-play.
