Apex Legends Soars on Nintendo Switch 2 with Major Upgrades
New Version Delivers Enhanced Performance and Visuals
Gamers are buzzing as a significantly improved version of Apex Legends is set to launch on the Nintendo Switch 2. The upcoming iteration promises a smoother, more visually appealing experience, bridging the gap between Nintendo’s hybrid console and its competitors.
Performance and Visual Leap
The new Apex Legends adaptation leverages the Switch 2’s capabilities, boosting the frame rate to a crisp 60 frames per second. This enhancement is crucial for the fast-paced action of the popular battle royale. Visually, the game will see a notable uplift, aiming to rival the presentation found on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles.
When docked, players can expect a sharp 1920×1080 resolution. In portable mode, the game will achieve 1792×1008 pixels, ensuring a detailed experience on the go. These improvements will be present across all game modes, from the intense skirmishes to the full-scale 60-player Battle Royale matches.
Exclusive Enhancements and Bonuses
Apex Legends, which has been available on the original Nintendo Switch, will offer these exclusive benefits on its successor starting August 5. Players migrating to the Switch 2 version can uninstall their existing Switch copy. Furthermore, early adopters can snag a special reward: the Pathfinder’s ‘Stormpoint’ appearance.
To receive this cosmetic, players must log into Apex Legends on either the Switch or Switch 2 before September 16, 2025. This bonus requires an EA account and all game updates, with the skin being exclusive to Nintendo platforms. This promotion comes as games continue to see robust player engagement on Nintendo hardware, with titles like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe still topping sales charts years after release.
Gameplay Tweaks and New Content
Beyond visual and performance enhancements, the latest patch introduces gameplay adjustments and bug fixes. Notably, two fan-favorite legends, **Papigás** and **Revientodo**, are returning to the roster. The update also brings new cosmetic ‘Auras,’ alongside refinements to elite weapons, legend amplifiers, and weapon unlocking.
The developers have indicated that Apex Legends will continue to be supported, with future updates planned, potentially including a “version 2.0” after the release of the next Battlefield title this October. It’s anticipated that this significant update will also be available for the Nintendo Switch 2, ensuring the game remains a viable and exciting option for players on the platform.
