The Ministry of Health (Minsa) will start the vaccination day against covid-19 for young people over 18 years old on Monday, October 25. On October 15, the first batch of 192 thousand Sptunik Light vaccines arrived in the country, which were acquired by the Ortega regime as a purchase from the Russian Federation.
With a single dose, Sputnik Light is 79.4 percent effective from day 28 after application, according to its creators.
On October 13, the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) and the Gamaleya Institute, creator of the drug, detailed that this vaccine proved to be 70 percent effective against the delta variant of SARS-CoV -2, three months after the application of the drug.
The study by the Russian authorities highlights that the Sputnik Light vaccine also reduced the number of serious cases and hospitalizations in patients who contracted the delta variant and also shows an efficacy of more than 75 percent among the population over 18 and under 60.
