According to investigations, from December 2018 to December 2020, several registered users on Weibo published online publications and novels, which contained obviously obscene and pornographic content. On January 4 this year, the Beijing Municipal Cultural Market Comprehensive Law Enforcement Corps imposed administrative penalties on Beijing Micro Dream Network Technology Co., Ltd., which operates Weibo, in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.
According to the report, from 2020 to the present, the “anti-pornographic and anti-illegal” departments have resolutely investigated and cracked down on illegal and criminal acts in which criminals use Weibo to divert “pornography” and spread bad information. Six criminal cases were successfully cracked in Anhui, Zhejiang, Gansu and other places. In these cases, the suspects used the methods of posting pornographic and vulgar content on Weibo registered accounts, commenting on posts, and disseminating obscene videos to Weibo chat groups.
