While the NBA has announced that journalists will soon be able to vote for the MVP, the decision seems to be played between LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo. Needless to say, Anthony Davis made his choice, and he’s giving his reasons.
As of July 30, the NBA will be officially back with 8 games for each team. The goal ? Classify them definitively in order to start the playoffs. This is the only stake, because the individual trophies will be finished before.
This week, the league announced that those 8 games will not count towards the race for MVP, DPOY, etc. Better yet, so as not to be influenced, journalists will vote before the resumption.
The most coveted individual trophy is obviously the MVP. This season, we can think that the trophy is played between two men: Giannis Antetokounmpo on one side, and LeBron James on the other. The King thinks elsewhere have done what is necessary to win it. Questioned in front of the media on Tuesday, Anthony Davis thinks so too.

Just the things he does at his age. He played one of his best basketball years, and on the best team in the West. He just happens to be in the race at his age, and I can see all the things he does on game night. He’s been doing this since the start of his career, and I think that’s a good argument for the MVP.
One of the arguments that comes up most often for placing LeBron as an MVP is his age (35). DeMarcus Cousins laughed about it last week, but the Lakers pivot has clearly hit an interesting point. It is true that the native of Akron is a model of longevity.
Enough to win the MVP? We can doubt it, especially when we see the season that Giannis is doing on the other side. The Bucks player, in any case, cannot bet on his age to advance his argument.
The MVP trophy is played between LeBron and Giannis today. No one will be surprised to see Davis picking his teammate, which doesn’t mean his argument isn’t interesting.
