Mladenovic had an advantage at 5-1 in the first set when Siegemund was given. She shortened the game for the net, the opponent returned the ball, but only after it landed on the clay for the second time, which revealed the record. Mladenovic then touched the net during the blow and lost the point.
She argued with Chief Judge Eva Asderaki, but she didn’t see a double impact. “She was perhaps the only one on the center court,” Mladenovic said angrily. “It’s human to make a mistake, but I don’t understand that she didn’t notice. She’s going on Roland Garros, I’m not!”
