Another vehicle set on fire in Arnhem despite arrests NOW

During the night from Saturday to Sunday, another vehicle was set on fire in Arnhem, this time in the Klarendal district. Omroep Gelderland reports that an engine was set on fire in Hovenierstraat. The city has been plagued by several vehicle fires for months.

In early May, a 39-year-old Arnhemmer was arrested on suspicion of involvement in the fires. Later, a 42-year-old woman was arrested.

Despite these detentions, however, the series of vehicle fires does not seem to end. Last weekend a car and a van caught fire in the Klarendal district. At the peak in April, seventeen vehicles were set on fire in one week.

Almost all fires took place in residential areas. A number of times houses had to be evacuated because of the smoke released from the fires. Since then, police have been supervising more in a number of neighborhoods.

The police do not rule out more arrests and ask people who know more to report.
