Another threatening letter discovered at company in Amsterdam, linked to bombbriefs | NOW

A car company in Amsterdam received a threatening letter this weekend which, according to a police spokesperson, corresponds to the other threatening letters that have recently been sent to various targets. The company has not received a bomb letter, the police reported to NU.nl on Monday.

The Dutch Forensic Institute (NFI) is investigating whether there are traces on the letter. The other threatening letters and bomb letters are also housed there.

Companies in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Utrecht and Maastricht were the target of the bomb letters last week. No explosive has been triggered. If this had happened, it could have resulted in serious physical injury.

The envelopes are indicated by the Central Collection Agency (CIB) as the sender. However, this company has nothing to do with the bomb letters. Because some companies did not realize that the letters were false, they mistakenly sent the bomb letters back to the head office. One of these returned bomb letters actually reached the collection agency, another could be intercepted at a mail sorting center.

Photos of bomb letters scattered

The police have distributed photos of the bomb letters. An important difference with the real letters from the collection agency is that the address on the bomb letters is on a sticker and is not printed on the envelope.

The bomb letters were probably sent by one sender. So there is probably one perpetrator or there are several perpetrators working together.

PostNL informed NU.nl on Friday to take measures to guarantee the safety of its staff.
