Another gold for Voborníková. The Czech biathlete is a two-time world champion

Biathlete Tereza Voborníková is a two-time junior world champion. After a sprint triumph, she also dominated Sunday’s fighter race and won her third medal at the Soldier Hollow Championship.

She added the second victory to the bronze medal from the endurance race. She reached the podium for gold with a sign saying “Pray for Ukraine”.

Twenty-one-year-old Voborníková, who moved to the USA from the Beijing Olympics, made three mistakes at the shooting range. However, she shot cleanly on the last item and defended the first place with a lead of 6.2 seconds over the Italian Hannah Auchentaller.

With her titles, Voborníková followed on from Markéta Davidová, who was so far the last Czech junior world champion. The current Czech number one team won the world title among juniors four years ago in Estonia in a fighter race.

The Czech team has four precious metals at the junior championship in the USA. Jonáš Mareček started the medal collection with a victory in the endurance race, he finished sixth in the fighter. Tomas Mikyska was eighth.
