Another 700 people are being evacuated to the Canary Islands due to the volcano – Abroad – News

The evacuees must have a gathering place with their personal belongings and pets at 7 pm, the committee pointed out.

Depending on the course of events, people may be able to return to their homes with the security services to pick up other belongings in the coming days.

So far, 6,000 people have had to leave their homes in Palma.

Most stay with relatives and friends in other parts of the island or in hotels.

A few hours before the evacuation order, the commander’s hour was canceled, affecting about 3,000 people in the area near the industrial zone of Caliçon de la Gata.

Concerns were expressed on Monday that dangerous chemicals could be released into the environment, causing 1,200-degree hot lava to cause a fire in several companies, including a cement factory.

The eruption of Palma Volcano began on September 19, for the first time in 50 years.

In recent days, the eruption has intensified, with several explosions releasing magma into the air and smoke rising several kilometers.

To date, up to 1,000 buildings have been destroyed in the eruption, causing serious damage to the island’s agriculture and industry.
