TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Former Head of the Profession and Security Division of the Indonesian National Police Inspector General Ferdy Sambo reportedly will soon be named a suspect in the murder case of his aide, Brigadier J alias Nopryansah Yosua Hutabarat. The announcement of the suspect which will take place this Tuesday afternoon, August 9, 2022, will be attended by seven generals.
The Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Headquarters, Inspector General Dedi Prasetyo, stated that the announcement of the new suspect would be directly led by the National Police Chief Gen. Listyo Sigit Prabowo. Dedi did not comment on who would be the new suspect.

A number of tempo sources in the police stated that the new suspect was Inspector General Ferdy Sambo.
The following is a list of 7 generals who will be present in Ferdy Sambo’s announcement as suspects:

2. Deputy Chief of Police, Komjen Gatot Eddy Pramono
3. Head of Criminal Investigation Unit, Komjen Agus Andrianto
4. Irwasum Komjen Agung Budi Maryoto
5. Danko Brimob Komjen Anang Revandoko
6. Kabaintelkam Inspector General Ahmad Dofiri
7. Head of Public Relations Division Inspector General Dedi Prasetyo
Gatot Eddy is the head of the special team to investigate the case of Brigadier J’s murder. This team has previously identified two suspects, namely Bharada E alias Richard Eliezer Pudihang Lumiu and Brigadier Ricky Rizal.
Bharada E was charged with Article 338 regarding intentional murder in conjunction with Articles 55 and 56 of the Criminal Code, while Brigadier Ricky was charged with Article 340 of the Criminal Code regarding premeditated murder subsidiary to Article 338 in conjunction with Articles 55 and 56 of the Criminal Code.
Ferdy Sambo’s name is getting more attention after Richard changed his statement regarding the events of Joshua’s death. In the first statement, he admitted to being involved in a shootout with his fellow members of the Indonesian National Police at Ferdy’s official residence on July 8, 2022.
Richard stated that the shooting occurred because he, who was on the second floor of the house, heard the screams Princess Candrawathi, Ferdy’s wife. According to the police, Joshua abused Putri. Richard stated that Joshua shot himself first so he retaliated in self-defense.
In his latest statement, he retracted the story. Richard admitted that he only saw Ferdy Sambo holding a gun temporarily Brigadier J had been covered in blood when he came down from the second floor because he heard a commotion on the first floor. He also admitted that he had shot Joshua on orders from his superiors.
