“Dear Nijmegen Police, what’s your problem?” With those words, Kayleigh Hofstede sends a message on Twitter, in which she accuses the Nijmegen police of having sent away and fined a homeless man in the night between Saturday and Sunday.
“It was below zero degrees. I saw a homeless man sitting under a roof being turned away by the police at the Molenpoortpassage in Nijmegen,” Hofstede recounts. “I was super angry. How heartless can you be?”
He shares his story on Twitter, after which the message is widely shared. The police would kill the homeless, she cries. The indignation is great.
