Angry farmers provide 10 kilometers of traffic jams on the A2 | with tractors NOW

Dozens of campaigning farmers on tractors caused a lot of delay on the A2 from Utrecht to Den Bosch during the evening rush hour. There was a traffic jam of 11 kilometers between Beesd and Zaltbommel at around 6 p.m., reports the ANWB.

According to the ANWB, the farmers turned around Zaltbommel at around 6.30 pm and drove the tractors back on the A2 towards Utrecht. This caused a delay of more than half an hour and a 6 kilometer traffic jam.

It is the fifth evening in a row that farmers in the Netherlands take to the road to protest. The farmers are angry with the new cattle feed measure by Minister Carola Schouten of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality.

In recent days, the farmers have taken tractors to distribution centers of supermarkets in Drenthe, Groningen and Gelderland. They also blocked roads in several places, including the A32 and A7 near Heerenveen and access roads to Eindhoven Airport.

The actions started on Thursday evening when farmers with tractors drove to the Binnenhof in The Hague for a spontaneous protest.
