Angers. Why the intensive care unit of the CHU is still on strike

The strike continues for the nurses, nurses, orderlies and nursing assistants of the intensive care unit of the university hospital center (CHU) ofAngers.

After expressing their anger on May 6 in front of the hospital entrance, it is therefore Place du Ralliement that the striking caregivers joined on Tuesday, May 25.

Both present alongside the medical staff, the representatives of the Sud santé sociaux unions, Christian Lemaire, and FO, Emmanuelle Dubourg-Davy, regret “A lack of consideration” from management.

An overbid?

“The service has been on the front line for 14 months. We currently have 37 beds in intensive care and we do not have the impression of being supported ”, indicates Christian Lemaire. A meeting with the Regional Health Agency and the Prefect was organized after this event in order to consider new negotiations.

On the side of the CHU management, “It is difficult to understand the overbidding”, says Jean-François Agulhon, director of human resources at the University Hospital of Angers. A “Bidding” which Christian Lemaire does not understand either, even though the number of posts requested by the unions has decreased since the start of the protest.
