Angers ordered to pay 3 million euros in compensation to Pickeu

The Angers club was ordered on Wednesday to pay 3 million euros in compensation to its former emblematic sports director, Olivier Pickeu, who contested his dismissal for “serious misconduct” in April 2020.

In its deliberations delivered on Wednesday, the industrial tribunal recognized a “real and serious cause” for dismissal but not “serious misconduct”.

The club, which disputed the very existence of an employment contract, was ordered to pay 3 million euros in wages, paid holidays, allowances and bonuses.

Now president of Caen (L2), Pickeu claimed 7 million euros for being laid off and fired after a 14-year lease at the club.

In a press release, Angers announced “to take note of the decision”.

But one or the other of the parties could appeal once received the notification of the decision and especially of its motivations.
