Voight, who is an ardent Trump supporter, speaks in a Twitter video he published on Tuesday to remove President Joe Biden from office, writes Newsweek.

The actor does not specify what worries him or why Biden should lose the role of president, but is content to state that “we all follow us very insecurely”.

– My good friends, we are all sad about all the unrest that has been brought to our lives. Can this darkness be removed? Can we all share joy again and look each other in the eyes? says Voight in the message.

He goes on to say that the United States is a nation that needs to be brought back to security. The 83-year-old accuses Biden of “tearing down our morals, the true gift in the land of the free”.

– He must be brought before the Supreme Court. Do not let President Biden tear down every inch that was sacrificed by blood, sweat and tears for his lies, Voight says in the video.

The controversial actor makes a name for himself by associating with equally controversial people. Both election result denier Donald Trump and abuse accused Marilyn Manson are in his circle of acquaintances.

The play from the Republican actor does not go unnoticed.

– His own children hate him, comments actor William Baldwin on Twitter – with obvious allusion to the years-long conflict between Voigt and his own children.

The message was written in response to Voight’s video message on Twitter.

Zero contact with the children

Jon Voight is known from the movie classic “Midnight Cowboy” (1969) and the TV series “Ray Donovan”. He received an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor in the former and a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor in the latter.

Privately, Voight is the father of director and actress Angelina Jolie (49) and actress James Haven (49). Both have a strained relationship with Voight and have for years had either minimal or no contact with him.

TURBULENT RELATIONSHIP Angelina Jolie has for long periods distanced herself from and had zero contact with the actress’ father Jon Voight. Here the two are photographed in 2000.

However, she has always paid tribute to her late mother, Marcheline Bertrand, who died in 2007, just 56 years old.

– My mother married as a 21-year-old and was divorced with two small children when she was 25. She could not be an artist as she wanted, but she raised her children with art and creativity. Even though it was just a birthday visit, she found a way to use her talent, Jolie said in an interview with The Guardian.

She has been more reluctant to talk about her father. After years without contact In the late 1990s, Jolie was reunited with him for a short time. But after the divorce from Billy Bob Thornton, they came to the fore after Voight went out in the media and stated that the daughter “had serious personal problems and needed professional help”.

Angelina’s brother, James Haven, has previously told Marie Claire that his father subjected him and his mother to mental abuse.

– It is heartbreaking that the children want to portray me in such a bad light. I think it’s because their mother, who understandably got very upset when I left her, has programmed them with anger, Voight commented in a response to EOnline.

Praised daughter

After years without contact, however, Jolie praised her father for running after Brad Pitt’s divorce.

– He has been really good at understanding that the children need their grandfather now, Jolie said to Vanity Fair in the summer of 2017.

Voight, for his part, has stated that he is proud of how his daughter has handled fame.

– Angelina has had to relate to fame in a way I never needed, he said Daily Mail i 2014.
