anesthesiologists announce a “hard” and “unlimited” strike from January 11

A union of anesthesiologists-resuscitators announced Tuesday the filing of a notice of strike “hard” and “unlimited” from January 11, against a recent reform “disadvantageous” which accelerates the careers of new doctors but not those already in office. “Loyalty to the public hospital is despised,” said in a statement the National Union of hospital anesthetists-resuscitators (Snphare), raised against the “reclassification” of doctors on a new “seniority grid” following the “Segur of health”.

Acted in July, the abolition of the first three career steps is favorable to new hires, but those who were recruited before 2020 “are at a disadvantage by 4 years of seniority compared to their colleagues appointed this year”, denounces the Snphare. An analysis shared with the emergency physicians of Amuf, as well as the practitioners of SNMH-FO and Ufmict-CGT, who together affirmed last week that this measure would “empty the hospital of its doctors”.

Deploring the “failure of all attempts at negotiations”, the anesthesiologists of Snphare threaten “a hard, indefinite strike, non-urgent and urgent care” from January 11 and demand “urgently” that the Ministry of Health “take a rapid decision of equitable reclassification (…) which would make it possible to avoid hospital chaos”.
