RSC Anderlecht had a miserable season and only finished in eighth place. Again, not European football for the people of Brussels. Next season, however, they want to do better. But Eric Van Meir does not believe in purple and white.
According to the analyst, Anderlecht will not play a significant role next season. “Another new board. Will it help then”, he wonders in De Krant van West-Vlaanderen.
“Now Anderlecht really have no core to do anything in the top 6. Chadli has left and it will be very difficult to get an equivalent alternative,” says Van Meir. According to the analyst, Club Brugge will be the big title favorite again next season.
At Anderlecht, however, it is believed that the top three (and maybe even more) is feasible. For example, CEO Karel Van Eetvelt indicated that the top three is certainly possible if the core can be kept together.
