Andalusia registers 1,325 new Covid infections and six deaths in the last day

The Ministry of Health and Families reports that, currently, 757 patients confirmed with Covid-19 remain admitted to Andalusian hospitals, of which 183 are in the ICU. There are three fewer, in each case, than those notified the previous day.

Hospital pressure continues to fall in the autonomous community, but the new infections remain above a thousand long in the last week. Health has notified 1,325 new positives in the autonomous community in the last 24 hours, almost 200 less than the day before.

The pandemic leaves another 6 deceased in Andalusia and with this they are already 10,072 people who have died in the region since the beginning of the Covid-19 health crisis.

A total of 590,620 people have been infected in the autonomous community, according to the accumulated balance that refers to Confirmed cases by antigen test or PCR. This means that around 7% of the Andalusian population has been infected with the coronavirus.

In the last day, the number of patients who have recovered from the disease (933) is still below the new positives.

The cumulative initiation rate at 14 days per 100,000 inhabitants, it drops slightly to 182.98, and is still well above the last reported for the whole of Spain (117.22).

Vaccination campaign

In parallel, the vaccination campaign continues to advance in the eight provinces. The data update, as of June 4, shows that Andalusia has already administered 5,211,503 doses of the different vaccines (more than 93% of those received); at least 3,421,953 people have received an injection; and 1,907,558 already have the complete guideline. It represents 22.5% of the entire Andalusian population and 27% of those over 16 years of age.

On the other hand, the Official State Gazette (BOE) has published this Saturday the controversial agreement of the Interterritorial Council of the National Health System (Cisns) on the declaration of coordinated actions against Covid-19 with restrictions on nightlife and hospitality and that they are mandatory.

This agreement was approved last Wednesday, June 2, in the Plenary of the Cisns with the votes against of the autonomous communities of Andalusia, Madrid, Catalonia, Galicia and Murcia.
