It’s a well-established ritual. Every year, a US business delegation visits Vietnam as part of the US-Asean Business Council. But this year it was exceptional in size. Never, in fact, have so many representatives of American industry and commerce been on site at the same time.
With 52 companies, it is, in fact, the largest American trade mission ever organized which has multiplied contacts with Vietnamese representatives. This American offensive comes in a particular context. That of the growing tensions between the United States and China in this part of Asia.
