“According to preliminary information, the explosion occurred due to a gas leak. As a result of the incident, the windows of the apartment, as well as the windows of neighboring dwellings were damaged. At the time of the incident, the owner of the apartment was in the room, who received injuries of varying severity. The man, born in 1956, was hospitalized by doctors,” – the message says.
Law enforcement officers noted that they did not have information about other victims.
Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service in Kiev clarified on Facebook that an explosion thundered in the kitchen of an apartment on the third floor of a nine-story building at 71a Akademika Vernadsky Street.
“There was an explosion followed by the burning of garbage on an area of 1 m²”, – noted the rescuers.
