An emotional video of Latvian celebrities tells about Covid-19

A video has become popular on the Internet, in which well-known people in the Latvian society tell about their experience with Covid-19 and call for compliance with the restrictions.

The video shows such well-known people as radio voice Kaspars Breidaks, medic Roberts Fūrmanis, singer Arnis Račinskis, musician and rapper Ansis Kolmanis, as well as singers Jānis Šipkēvics and Ralfs Eilands.

For example, Eiland shares the experience of an acquaintance with the new coronavirus. The 19-year-old girl had been fighting Covid-19 for a month, which was the most difficult stage in her life.

As we announced, in order to combat the spread of Covid-19 more effectively, Prime Minister Krišjānis Kariņš will encourage his government colleagues to extend the emergency situation due to Covid-19, as well as to impose stricter restrictions, the Prime Minister announced in a live address to the public on Sunday evening.

“Friends, not good! For eight weeks now, we have seen that the incidence of Covid-19 is growing and growing, and unfortunately mortality is also rising,” said Kariņš, calling this the biggest crisis Latvia has experienced since regaining independence.

The head of government said that so far there are no signs that the increase in the incidence of Covid-19 in Latvia would decrease, but the health care system is on the verge of survival.

“We have to act!” called Kariņš, emphasizing that the best way to defeat the virus is to follow safety measures so as not to get sick at all.
