At the same time, the night before, residents of cities across Turkey watched the fall of an unknown bright object, writes Ukrinform.

“In Ankara, at about 18.25, a large bright spherical object appeared in the sky, which quickly descended to the ground. After the fall, a trace remained in the sky, which subsequently disappeared. We observed this phenomenon in the Cankaya region,” the agency writes.

Also, the fall of the object was observed in other areas of Ankara, as well as in Istanbul, Konya, Izmir, Sakarya, Antalya, Eskisehir, Denizli and Nigde. Eyewitnesses wrote about this on social networks and posted video from surveillance cameras, suggesting that it was a meteorite.

In turn, the residents of Konya said that after the fall they felt a shock similar to an earthquake.

Recall that earlier in the Mediterranean recorded a strong earthquake… The epicenter of the tremors was located 149 kilometers from the Greek island of Karpathos with a population of about 6.5 thousand people.

It was also reported that near the Kuril Islands recorded five earthquakes… The epicenter of the strongest earthquake was located 160 kilometers south of the city of Severo-Kurilsk.
