At least once in their life, everyone will have found it difficult to choose a course or a profession, especially once they have reached the end of their high school years. But today, thanks to technology, this task could become less complicated. Indeed, there is now an AI-based system to help students to make their choice on Parcoursup.
According to the information, the choice in question will have to be made from January 20, and to assist young people, the chatbot called Hello Charly has been developed. This tool works like mobile messaging services and invites high school students to start a conversation on a specific site. There is also the possibility of using chatbots that can be found on the usual platforms such as TikTok, Instagram or Snapchat.
Hello Charly operates 24 hours a day and aims to complement guidance counselors. We know that the dialogues offered by the AI are personalized.
How Hello Charly works
When using Hello Charly, there is no need to register since the service is used anonymously. The tool works by offering a choice of answers to questions asked by the robot, but there is also the possibility of writing directly to explain the kind of project that one wishes to undertake. At the beginning, the AI first tries to get to know its interlocutor better in order to get an idea of the personality of this one.
In order to give the best possible advice, Hello Charly asks questions that relate, for example, to the childhood dreams of young people, or to areas that interest or inspire them. The robot thus seeks to identify the psychological aspect of the student, as well as his intellectual and emotional capacities. The dialogue generally lasts between 45 minutes and an hour, and at the end, the tool suggests the appropriate channels.
A wide range of professions and training
To function, Hello Charly is based on a reference containing more than 850 different professions. As for training, the tool offers 110,000. This covers all the needs of young people aged between 14 and 24.
The Hello Charly start-up was created in 2016, and officials indicate that since then, the chatbot has been used by more than 220,000 users in France. Hopefully it will now be easier for young students to choose the path they are going to follow.
