An agreement has been reached on the new German government

Scholz said the new government would not pursue the “lowest common denominator” but would pursue a “high-impact policy”.

He emphasized that the cornerstones of the new government’s policy would be a “sovereign Europe”, friendship with France and cooperation with the United States, thus continuing the tradition that had existed since World War II.

Scholz expressed hope that the agreement reached within the next ten days will be formally approved by the parties involved in the coalition negotiations.

The Greens will submit the coalition agreement for approval in an internal referendum, which will be open to all 125,000 party members, while the SPD and FDP plan to approve it at party congresses.

The parties plan to hold a vote in the Bundestag on approving the new government in the second week of December.

According to sources, the SPD will have six ministerial portfolios in the new German government, the greens will have five ministerial seats and the FDP four.

The new ministry, which will combine economic and climate issues, as well as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of the Environment, and the Ministries of Agriculture and Family Affairs, are expected to come under the control of the Greens.

The FDP is expected to head the Ministry of Finance as well as the Ministries of Transport, Education and Justice.

Sources report that the SPD will be controlled by the Ministries of Interior, Defense, Health, Employment, Economy and Cooperation, and the newly established Ministry of Construction.

According to a coalition agreement between the DPA, AFP and REUTERS, the next German government intends to phase out coal by 2030, eight years ahead of schedule.

The new government hopes to phase out the use of internal combustion engines by now.

At the same time, the coalition agreement stipulates that by 2030, 80% of Germany’s electricity consumption will be provided with so-called renewable energy resources.

Until now, it was planned to provide only 65% of consumption with renewable energy resources by that date.

At the same time, the new coalition is committed to restoring the constitutional debt ceiling from 2023, which was lifted to cope with the economic consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic.

At the request of the FDP, the coalition agreement also includes a commitment not to raise taxes.

Nevertheless, the new coalition promises to dramatically increase investment in infrastructure and climate change mitigation.

The parties have also agreed to allow dual citizenship and facilitate the acquisition of German citizenship.

At the same time, the coalition agreement envisages reserving to the Greens the right to nominate a European Union (EU) commissioner in the event that Germany does not hold the presidency of the European Commission (EC).

The new coalition has also agreed to legalize marijuana.

At the same time, the parties have agreed to legalize the use of armed drones in order to increase the protection of soldiers sent abroad.
